A public transport system based on bicycles stored in a closely spaced network of stations. With an access card a user can check out and check in bicycles between any stations thereby completing his first or last kilometers of routine commuting. The biggest factor behind a bike share’s success is not the technology or even the bikes, it’s the people and processes that keep the system running day to day. From planning, launch, education, operations and maintenance, top-notch bike sharing programs have processes and people that ensure great rider experiences.

This allows each bike to serve several users per day. In most bike-share cities, casual riding over several hours or days is better served by bicycle rental than by bike-share. For many systems, Smartphone mapping apps show nearby stations with available bikes and open docks.

The reasons people use bike-share vary considerably. Some who would otherwise use their own bicycle have concerns about theft or vandalism, parking or storage, and maintenance requirements. However, with limits on the number of places where bicycles can be rented or returned, the service resembles public transit, and has therefore been criticized as less convenient than a privately owned bicycle used door-to door.

What is a Bike Share system?

1. It’s an alternative transportation program with innovative ideas, whereby system subscribers have access to bicycles through Mobile@app!!
2. Bike share is ideal for short distance point-to-point trips providing subscribers access to bicycles at any self-serve bike station to use and return to any bike station within the system’s service area.
3. Bike share stations shall be available on the average ride at 10 to 15 minutes and between 200 mtrs to 2 kms.
4. The bicycle can be returned to any number of self-serve bike sharing stations. It is easy to operate with simple components and adjustable seats.
5. The bicycles are available for system subscribers to use on a short-term basis Rs.1.00 per minutes for a small fee.
6. People have many reasons for using public bicycles, ranging from commuting and shopping, marketing to recreation and tourism. It is useful for the students for schooling and coaching classes purpose too.
7. Bicycles shall be re-distributed among the stations with a Cycle trailer to account for migration of bicycles from one station to another station.
